There is a common writing prompt in the publishing world, where authors
explain why they write. As you would expect the reasons vary widely, but a
common theme in all their responses is, they had a story to tell. And I am no
different.
If we’re really going to get into this, the real question isn’t why I
write, but I’m not writing now. Like many others, it’s easy for me to make
excuses and even easier for me to talk myself out of doing something. “I’ll get
back to it later” is a sure fire way for me to never get anything done, but it’s
a phrase I repeat to myself often.
My perfected skill in procrastination constantly prevents me from
moving forward. But we can go into that in a later post. At the end of the day
though, the only person I am hurting is myself; cliché, but true.
So, why start blogging, and why now. Well...why not. I’ve got some
stories to tell myself. And rather than spend the next decade procrastinating
like the last, I figured it’s time to get moving.
You could consider me to be an avid learner; a constant seeker of a
good story, but visual and textual. My goal with this blog, isn’t just to share
random bits of my life, but the things I’ve noticed, experienced, and much
more.
I hope you enjoy these glimpses into my world, as I much as I’ll enjoy
sharing them with you.
Until next time,
L
